Our beautiful cottage, tucked away in a very quiet area and surrounded by stunning views is situated in the heart of the picturesque village of Reeth in Swaledale in the Yorkshire Dales. The cottage is tastefully decorated, well furnished, cosy and relaxing and within a few minutes walking distance of the village.
The towns of Richmond and Leyburn are close by and the area is a paradise for walkers of all capabilities, the rolling hills make it the most scenic of the Yorkshire Dales and there are plenty of interesting places suitable for all people of all ages to explore and to discover. T he river is near by so take your fishing nets and a picnic and relax, or if that sounds a little too energetic, why not chill out in our beautiful well maintained gardens or enjoy a quiet stroll through the village.
The cottage has many new and stylish internal features. It benefits from double glazing with the added luxury of oil central heating, and a lovely open fire if required, to banish those cooler nights. There is a well appointed modern kitchen, which includes dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric oven and hob, microwave and a utility room, with washer/drier.
After an enjoyable day, spent exploring the surrounding area, you can relax in the well appointed and tastefully furnished lounge where there is a T.V, D.V.D player with assorted discs, along with books to read, maps and games for all the family. Local pictures adorn the walls; we even have a Swaledale sheep (not real of course).
Upstairs are two spacious, comfortable and well appointed bedrooms. The first bedroom is a twin bedded room with ample space for a Z bed or travel cot (provided). The second bedroom has a dressing room and a very recently built en suite. There is also a separate family bathroom and downstairs cloakroom.
Outside in the large beautiful gardens you may enjoy the many seasonal flowers and shrubs that bloom throughout the year, or relax on the swing seat and admire the stunning views while sipping a cool refreshing drink . We have a terraced area where you can enjoy having a BBQ, or, if you don't feel like cooking, there are hotels, cafes and shops all within easy walking distance and so convenient you’ll be completely spoilt for choice. But, you don't need to bring too much food as the village has two small general dealers, a home bakery ( super scones) and a post office. On Friday’s there is an excellent market, selling fresh veg., fish and there are also deli stalls .
